WOMEN'S MENTOR GROUPS
In this image-forward age of opportunity, we feel more anxious than ever, striving to measure up, working harder, seeking approval from others. Our culture is screaming at us to do better, be better. This constant pursuit and self-improvement narrative leaves so many women exhausted over this never-ending battle for satisfaction and does not embrace the freedom and transformative grace that God offers. This book study helps us to examine these issues in light of who God is.
Living a Life of Prayer & Worship
Experience a greater understanding of who God declares you to be, a deeper relationship with Him through developing a lifestyle of worship and prayer throughout your day, and a greater connection to those you pray for. We will study several different biblical models of prayer and praying scripture over others, learning to converse relationally with God and to develop a better sense of His responses to prayer within us. We will also dive into ways to worship God beyond our Sunday morning church service.
Read the true story of the Ten Boom family who were Christ followers in Nazi-occupied Holland during WW2. Corrie Ten Boom's account provides many examples and lessons of what it means to trust and find joy in God during adversity and reminds us of the overcoming power of God's love to heal and restore. As a group we will pull truths from their testimony to apply to our lives.
Community Groups
Highland Community Groups are where we commit to each other’s growth in Christ-likeness through consistent and honest relationships in the context of the local church.
Highland focuses on four main practices to help us walk in our vision for Community Group life:
Word and Prayer, Table Fellowship, Men’s & Women’s Breakouts, and Missional Effort.
THEY DEVOTED THEMSELVES TO THE APOSTLES’ TEACHING AND THE FELLOWSHIP, TO THE BREAKING OF BREAD AND THE PRAYERS.— ACTS 2:42
Community groups are marked by men and women of the church in discipleship
together interpreting, discussing, applying, and rejoicing over the scriptures
together. These times in God’s Word together are enriched by prayer for one
another.
Meals bring connection with those we eat with. Just as the early church did, Community Groups should share a meal together regularly in order to display our
dependence on God and our unity as God’s redeemed people.

WOMEN'S MINISTRY exists to declare the supremacy of Christ and envision the congregation of Highland Community Church to be people called of God, who love Jesus and follow His command to be disciple makers.
OUR DESIRE IS TO:
- lead women to embrace the great assurance and hope of their identity in Jesus Christ and to claim and enjoy satisfaction in Him
- treasure Christ together through: prayer, studying and applying His word, fellowship, and serving one another
- encourage and equip older women to be examples and teachers of younger women
- raise up women who exemplify biblical womanhood
MENTORING OPTIONS
Bible Studies / Book Groups: women in these groups study God's word in order to daily know Christ and grow in faith
Homemaking Groups: women in these groups will learn life skills for the home through hands-on experience
